Macanese Egg Tart, Macau

Digging through old photos of food…

All of the guidebooks tell you that no trip to Macau is complete without trying an egg tart.  They are sold everywhere.  We bought one on our way to the famous facade of the ruined St. Paul’s cathedral.  Even though ours was probably not from the finest purveyor and had been sitting in a warming oven, it was delicious.  Very sweet and buttery, especially where it was carmelized on the top.

Probably the best thing about Macau.
