Au Pied de Cochon (Montreal, Canada)

dscn2849Following a tip from the New York Times, Jen and I made a late-night reservation at Au Pied de Cochon in Montreal when we visited in October.  We started with foie gras on poutine, which was the most excessive dish I’ve ever eaten.  After that, we couldn’t do much more than nibble on the maple-smoked mackerel and potatoes, the PDC sampler (which included blood sausage, pork belly, a pork chop, and another sausage), and a confit lamb chop.  Ridiculous.  (The restaurant was awesome: packed at midnight on a Saturday night, with the owner drinking fiendishly and making friends at the bar the whole time.)
